Some of the best locations are not the destination. They are the quiet pullouts discovered while travelling between places. This viewpoint was a reminder to leave enough space in the schedule to stop, look around and take the long way.
Visibility and conditions
Smoke and changing weather can dramatically affect mountain travel. Before heading into remote areas, check wildfire conditions, road closures and local restrictions. Always keep a realistic turnaround plan.
